s Without rain nothing grows, learn to embrace the storms of your life.
Over three years ago I had been diagnosed with a rare brain Chiari malformation and tethered spinal cord. These conditions appeared suddenly and affected my speech which lead to stuttering, balance, ataxic walking gait, foot drop with fatigue, and more.  One year later I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer that included a double mastectomy surgery and chemotherapy treatment.  While recovering from these medical conditions I deeply desired to return to personal training and this was one of my own personal goals. Once beginning to recover, it was at this point, I discovered a new passion working with populations that suffer from gait abnormalities, balance difficulties, and chronic illness, to include cancer. After experiencing these physically disabling conditions and many more I deeply wished to help others suffering from similar situations to realize that it is possible that your body can enjoy movement once again if you listen to it and learn ways to manage symptoms.
As an Army military wife for over twenty-three years, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to provide personal training to numerous populations. I am grateful to have experience working with a wide variety of populations through many different fitness domains including weight loss, strength and conditioning, endurance training, balance, flexibility, preventative lymphedema exercises, post-mastectomy strength gains, and range of motion as well.  I enjoy working with all populations, however, my area of focus includes current and post cancer treatment and surgeries of cancer patients, the actively aging older adults, and those who are chronically ill. I also have experience in training with Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, post cardiac surgery, COPD, and Arthritis.
I enjoy yoga which I have been practicing for over eight years, meditation, stand up paddling (SUP) yoga, kayaking, strength training, hiking, gardening, and cooking fresh meals from my garden for my family and friends.  You may easily find me with my family attending our children's extra sporting events, walking our two labradors at the beach, Kailua town farmers markets, yoga sessions, anywhere fresh flowers can be found and easily picked to be arranged, along with attending events to help share my wellness knowledge and personal story related to enhancing awareness and educations for brain chiari malformation, cancer, lymphedema, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's, and more.
Overall, I have a passion for aiding others to accomplish their fitness goals that allow them to move their bodies freely and effectively through everyday activities of enjoyment.  Thank you deeply for potentially considering me to join you on this incredible journey to health.
